Finally Landed!

Hey Everyone!

WERE FINALLY HERE!!!!
I don't have much time to update right now, but I will fill everyone in on what the first couple days have been like...
We arrived at the airport at 330 am, exhausted and jittery. We were told to wait in the airport until 7am when a cab driver would pick us up at the gate and bring us to the school board office. We slept on benches for a few hours waiting and thankfully found a coffee bean and tea leaf in the airport so we were able to get coffee before leaving to Incheon.
We were driven to Incheon and then brought into the school board office where some really sweet school board employees gave us books about Korea and Ganghwa Island. We were SO exhausted and trying to look alert and excited.
Then Andrews Co Teacher, a very very sweet lady named Mi Jeong came and picked us up and drove us to Ganghwa. We thought we were going to get to go to our apartment, unpack and sleep, but she couldnt let us go home until we had done a huge list of things on the Island, OH MY GOSH we were soooooo tired and grumpy.
Mi Jeong brought us to a hospital where they gave us medical checks and then we were brought from office to office to meet big wigs from the schools. (at this point I was going to hurt someone I was so tired).
We eventually went and had a Korean meal with MiJeong ( our first meal in like 14 hours). We had Kimchi (Surprisingly GOOD!), some beef soup thing, some weird spicy green vegetables and radish. Then we had a cinnamon tea to finish the meal.
Everyone here sits on the floor to eat, The floors are all heated so you never sit on chairs, its really cool.
Eventually we straight up told Mi Jeong that we needed to go home. She understood and drove us to our apartment.
We were so tired that we didn't even look around and just went right in the apartment with our stuff, ready to collapse.
Our apartment was in need of a good cleaning and was FREEZING cold from being without heat for a few weeks, Our bed was like a ROCK, super hard with no give in the mattress at all when you sat down, and when we went into the stinky bathroom (which we have aptly named "the funk"), we realized that the water pressure was so low, we couldn't even have a hot shower.
We got into bed and basically had a moment of horror where we thought "are we crazy for coming here?" and then crashed, and slept for 14 hours straight.
So the first day was CRAZY and really overwhelming and shocking, but things have only gotten better everyday! Our apartment is clean and unpacked and feels very homey now, were getting to know the city a bit and we've gotten settled.
Tomorrow is our first day at school! Andrew found out his school is on vacation for the next month, so he is getting paid to do almost nothing for the next four weeks (ARG), but I will start my classes tomorrow :)
Im going to have to cut this short, we have to head out and pick up some things, but now that we have access to the internet, we will be able to update often :)
I leave you with a few pictures of the first few days!
LOVE AND MISS YOU ALLLLL
XO
